Chaos at Rotterdam Airport due to postponed flight Turkey

This morning there was chaos at Rotterdam Airport because a group of passengers did not want to leave the airport. 170 passengers were supposed to leave for Ankara (Turkey) on Sunday evening with Corendon. This flight is postponed until next Tuesday 10:00. The passengers were not happy with this and decided to occupy the gate.

The passengers demand a hotel room for the next 1.5 days and the atmosphere is grim. A spokesman of the airport advised everyone to go home, but in vain. The spokesperson indicates that Corendon should give information to the passengers and this is not the responsibility of the airport. The contact with Corendon is difficult and there is much uncertainty among the passengers.

Meanwhile, hotel rooms have been arranged for all passengers who did not live nearby. A passenger told TV Rijnmond that after much protest Corendon finally gave in and arranged a hotel room. Not good for the image of Corendon that has been under fire more often lately. Meanwhile, the peace has returned at Rotterdam Airport and the gate is free again.
