Italy’s SkyAlps has ordered 5 new Bombardier Q400 aircraft (pictured). These 5 aircraft will be added to the fleet in the near future. With this order, SkyAlps will double its fleet of Q400 aircraft. SkyAlps currently offers flights from its home base Bolzano in South Tyrol.

Registered in Malta

SkyAlps’ Bombardier Q400 aircraft are registered in Malta. They are flown by Malta-based Luxwing. SkyAlps’ current fleet consists of second-hand aircraft from Austrian Airlines and Flybe (bankrupt), among others. The new 5 Bombardier Q400 aircraft will be acquired from LGW. These aircraft have been idle for some time.

SkyAlps will fly three times a week between Bolzano and Dusseldorf. A number of winter sports destinations will be added next winter. Among them, flights to Antwerp are on the schedule.
