Transavia will not open a base at Brussels Airport
Transavia’s plan was to open a base at Brussels Airport in 2021. This has been postponed for the time being because Transavia does not want to invest at the moment. This is a direct consequence of the global COVID-19 crisis. Transavia CEO Marcel de Nooijer indicates that it has been a difficult decision to postpone the opening of the base. However, Transavia currently has no other choice.
Holiday flights from Brussels Airport
Transavia would start offering holiday flights from Brussels Airport in March 2021. It would fly to 9 destinations around the Mediterranean Sea. The focus would be on holiday flights. The opening of the base at Brussels Airport was postponed earlier, but now the opening at Brussels Airport as a whole seems to be off the rails. Only after the crisis can we look forward again. Nor is it yet clear how aviation will recover.
