SpiceJet starts flights at London Heathrow
SpiceJet is starting flights to London Heathrow. The price fighter from India will offer flights to London Heathrow from 1 September. SpiceJet is the second airline from India that will fly to London Heathrow. Air India has a competitor.
Negotiations
The slots at London Heathrow that SpiceJet can start using are initially valid until the end of October. These flights are intended to restart traffic between India and the United Kingdom. SpiceJet is negotiating with London Heathrow for the use of the slots after this period.
Longhaul flights
At the moment SpiceJet has only short- and medium-haul aircraft. With slots at London Heathrow, SpiceJet can also offer longhaul flights. It is not yet known which aircraft SpiceJet will use to fly to London Heathrow. Probably SpiceJet will use the Airbus A330-900 of HiFly. This has been placed with SpiceJet by means of a lease agreement.
