Rotterdam Airport open for passenger flights from 18 June
From 18 June it will be possible to fly again from Rotterdam Airport. The first airline that has announced to fly again from Rotterdam Airport is Transavia. Transavia will start with flights to Malaga, Alicante, Ibiza, Girona, Faro and Split. At Rotterdam Airport it is mandatory to wear face masks. Passengers will also have to show a health certificate upon arrival.
CEO of Rotterdam Airport, Ron Louwerse, says the following:
We trust that passengers will find their way safely and responsibly under the new rules and that they will follow the instructions of our airport staff. This is the only way we will be able to handle air traffic at Rotterdam The Hague safely and healthily.
In the past two months there have been no normal passenger flights at Rotterdam Airport. In the Netherlands, normal passenger flights have only been operated from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Eindhoven Airport. As of June 18, Rotterdam Airport will be added. A good development now that the coronavirus is weakening.
