European aviation continues to recover
European aviation is recovering. Figures from Eurocontrol show that the number of flights increased last week to 68.3 percent compared to 2019. This is a growth of 0.5 percent compared to a week earlier. Pegasus Airlines is even flying more than before COVID-19 and is growing steadily.
Top 10 Eurocontrol
The top 10 shows that Wizz, Turkish Airlines, Ryanair and KLM are relatively close to their former level. Lufthansa and SAS Airlines are still far below the level before COVID-19. British Airways does not fly enough to be included in the top 10. However, British Airways has indicated to increase the number of flights in the coming week. A striking point is the occupancy rate. The load factor of almost every airline is below the level of before COVID-19.
