Brussels Airport welcomes 1.1 million passengers in March

In March Brussels Airport welcomed 6 times as many passengers as in March last year. There were 1.1 million passengers who used Brussels Airport. These are very good figures and the CEO of Brussels Airport is very happy with them. Nevertheless, this is still 44% below the 2019 level. Cargo traffic remained stable compared to last year.

Sun destinations

The most popular destinations from Brussels Airport are towards the sun. The 10 favourite destinations from the airport were Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, Rome, Geneva, Milan, Istanbul, Malaga, Dubai and London. The Easter holidays are not yet included in these figures. April is also expected to be a very good month for the airport.

The number of passengers coming to Brussels Airport to change flights was 14% in March. This is 4% less than in 2019. These are mainly passengers from within Europe who transfer to intercontinental flights. The expectations of this summer are high. The numbers could well be close to those of 2019 again.
