Manchester Airport opens new terminal 2

Terminal 2 at Manchester Airport has been completely renovated and is open for passengers. Jet2 is the first airline that will use the new terminal. This week TUI Airways and Singepore Airlines will follow. The renovation of terminal 2 at Manchester Airport cost over 1.2 billion euros.

This week Jet2 will fly from terminal 2 to Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza and Menorca. TUI Airways will fly to Malta and Madeira at the end of this week. Singapore Airlines will operate its first flight from the new terminal this weekend.

Ultimate terminal experience

Terminal 2 is luxurious. It has a lighting installation with 16 million different shades of light. This installation is an ode to the symbol of the city of Manchester, the worker bee. There is also a digital screen of 81 square metres. This screen displays all important travel information for passengers.

The terminal also has many shops, bars and restaurants. These are specially selected from the region. It also has a branch of hamburger chain Archie’s. There are also two lounges for frequent flyers, business-class passengers and paying visitors.
