Emirates resumes flights between Dubai and Auckland

Emirates will once again operate flights between Dubai and Auckland. The Airbus A380 will be used for this purpose. The non-stop flight is no less than 14,200 kilometres long and is one of the longest flights in the world. The flight takes around 16 to 17 hours, depending on weather conditions. The direct flights will start on 1 December this year.

Auckland

Emirates currently flies to Auckland but not directly. The flight to Auckland currently has a stopover in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). These flights are currently operated with a Boeing 777-300ER.

Longest flight in the world

Emirates has previously flown directly between Dubai and Auckland without a stopover. This flight is in the top 5 longest flights in the world. At this moment the longest flight is the route between New York JFK and Singapore. This flight is operated by Singapore Airlines. This flight is currently still the longest flight in the world with a distance of 15,349 kilometres.

Qantas wants to break this record with a direct flight between Sydney and London Heathrow. This flight has a distance of about 17,000 kilometres and will be the number one longest flight in the world. The flight will be operated with an Airbus A350-1000. The flight is scheduled to take place in 2025.
