Development of Embraer E175-E2 has been postponed

Embraer has postponed the development of the E175-E2. The E175-E2 will probably only be in use from 2023 onwards. The temporary halt of the development was announced last week during the presentation of the quarterly results. The reason for the discontinuation of the development has to do with changing market conditions by COVID-19.

E195-E2

Currently the most popular type is the E195-E2 (next to the E190-E2). This aircraft is 41 meters long and can accommodate up to 146 passengers. KLM has ordered 21 of these aircraft through various leasing companies.

Net loss

The quarterly figures revealed that Embraer has suffered a net loss of almost $200 million. Embraer delivered only 4 aircraft in the second quarter. Last year in the same period they delivered 26 aircraft.
