Air Belgium will fly between Brussels Airport and Mauritius

Air Belgium will start flights between Brussels Airport and Mauritius. This flight will be operated for the first time in December this year. The existing flights from Charleroi Airport to Guadeloupe and Martinique will continue. In 2021 Air Belgium wants to expand further to the Netherlands Antilles and America.

4 Airbus A340-300 aircrafts

Air Belgium’s fleet currently consists of 4 Airbus A340-300 aircrafts. The airline currently exists 2 years and has closed 2019 well. In 2019, a pre-tax profit of 5.6 million euros was realised. This was on a turnover of 62.5 million euros. A large part of this comes from ACMI flights. The aircrafts of Air Belgium are also available to rent for other airlines. There is no demand for this at the moment, but in 2019 part of the fleet was frequently leased by Surinam Airways. These aircrafts were used for the flights between Paramaribo and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

Competition

With the addition of Mauritius as Air Belgium’s destinations, they are competing with KLM and TUI fly. This could be advantageous for passengers. Air ticket prices often go down when there is more competition at a certain destination.
