Ryanair opens base on Madeira
Ryanair has opened a new base on Madeira (Portugal). There will be 2 Boeing 737 aircraft from Ryanair at the airport of Madeira. This summer, Ryanair will operate flights from Madeira to 10 European destinations. There will be 80 flights per week to these destinations.
185 million euro
The investment in Ryanair’s new base amounts to 185 million euros. By opening a new base Ryanair will create 60 direct jobs and 500 indirect jobs. CEO Eddie Wilson hopes to be able to contribute significantly to Madeira’s tourism industry. Ryanair’s flights go to Charleroi, Dublin, Lisbon, London Stansted, Manchester, Marseille, Milan Bergamo, Nuremberg, Paris Beauvais and Porto.
