Air France-KLM needs 10 billion euros to survive. This is 4 billion more than was thought last week. The French newspaper ‘La Tribune’ came out with this news. Of the 10 billion, 8 billion is needed for Air France and 2 billion for KLM. The previously leaked 6 billion in aid would be a minimum amount. This has now been adjusted to 10 billion. At the end of this week more information about a possible support package will be announced.
25 million euros loss per day
Currently, Air France-KLM is making a loss of 25 million euros per day. The airline urgently needs money. A source of the French newspaper says the following:
If operations are not resumed this summer, the six billion will be frankly insufficient
Air France-KLM CEO Ben Smith said at a press conference last week that he did not expect the 2019 traffic figures to be met in the next two years.
