Air France-KLM is going to cooperate more with China Eastern Airlines

Air France-KLM is going to cooperate more with shareholder and partner China Eastern Airlines. This will mainly happen in the field of ground handling and maintenance. The intention is to strengthen the presence in Beijing through this cooperation. Air France flights between Paris and Beijing and KLM flights between Amsterdam and Beijing will be part of the new cooperation structure. The intention is to realise this as soon as possible. At this moment the final conditions for the cooperation are being finalised.

Share issue

The strengthening of the partnership comes at the right time. China Eastern Airlines will participate in the new share issue of Air France-KLM. China Eastern Airlines expands its interest of 8.8% to over 10% in Air France-KLM. Since 2000, Air France-KLM and China Eastern Airlines have been working together on the flight between Paris and Shanghai. An actual joint venture was set up in 2012. In 2016, the joint venture was expanded to include flights from Amsterdam to Shanghai. In 2017, China Eastern Airlines took an equity stake in Air France-KLM for the first time.
