Lelystad Airport is the largest airport for General Aviation in the Netherlands. You can go there for training flights, sightseeing flights and renting an airplane / private jet. Lelystad Airport is part of the Schiphol Group. Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has been granted permission to significantly expand the airport. The intention is for the airport to become one of the larger regional airports in the Netherlands. In 2020 the airport should be ready to take over flights from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

Lelystad Airport is currently the largest airport for General Aviation in the Netherlands. You can go there for training flights, sightseeing flights, aircraft maintenance and aircraft rental. There are also all kinds of other activities taking place in and around the airport. In 2020, the intention is to offer holiday flights as well. These will mainly take place within Europe and around the Mediterranean Sea.
It is possible to book a sightseeing flight at Lelystad Airport. There are several companies that offer these flights. A number of providers are Helicentre, Special Air Services and Heli Holland. With a sightseeing flight you see the Netherlands from a completely different side than you are used to. You also have the choice between a helicopter flight or a flight in a small plane.

Lelystad Airport will be connected to the A6 motorway. It promotes traffic flow, improves the accessibility of the airport for traffic from the Randstad conurbation and reduces the traffic pressure at exit 10 Lelystad.
Lelystad Airport can be reached from the train station via Arriva bus line 7. Bus line 7 stops in front of the Aviodrome and in front of the airport building.

Lelystad Airport has two large paved car parks where paid parking is available. In addition, there are a number of parking spaces with a charging station at the airport.
Car park P1
Car park P1 is located opposite the airport building and can accommodate 150 cars. You can pay for this car park at the desk in the airport building. Regular users can purchase a subscription or top-up card from Lelystad Airport. Companies can purchase exit tickets for their customers in advance.
Car park P2
Car park P2 is located directly opposite the Aviodrome National Aviation Theme Park and offers space for 500 cars. You can pay for this parking lot at the desk of the Aviodrome.
At the moment, parking at Lelystad airport is very cheap. The maximum fare is EUR 6,50 per day.
Lelystad Airport is centrally located in the Netherlands. This makes it quickly accessible for a large part of the Netherlands. The airport is new and well organised. It will become the Dutch gateway for holiday destinations in Europe. It is clearly arranged and less crowded than Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, for example. Also, the parking fees are cheap.
