Tenerife North Airport is one of the two airports on the popular Spanish island of Tenerife. As the name suggests, this airport is located in the north of the island, near the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Unlike the southern airport of Tenerife, Tenerife North Airport is a lot smaller. This airport is therefore mainly used for domestic flights: to other Canary Islands as well as the Spanish mainland. Nevertheless, the number of passengers of this airport is still increasing. In 2016 there were still 4.2 million passengers; in 2019 this number already grew to 5.8 million.

Tenerife North Airport is easily accessible by car, via the TF-5 motorway. You have to take exit 11 to get to the terminal. The drive from Tenerife North Airport to Santa Cruz de Tenerife takes about 15 minutes. Apart from the car, it is also possible to get to your destination by bus. Thus bus 20 drives within 25 minutes to Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Bus 30 and 343 also drive to Puerto de la Cruz and take about 40 minutes. There is also a direct bus connection between Tenerife North Airport and the southern airport. This ride takes 50 minutes.

It is also possible to park your car at Tenerife North Airport. There is space for 900 cars at General Car Park. From this parking lot you can reach the terminal within 2 minutes. Parking for 60 minutes at this car park costs €2. Parking for a day costs €13 and parking for a week at Tenerife North Airport costs €85.


Tenerife North Airport is a small airport that you can use especially well for domestic flights. For flights to larger European cities it is better to fly via Tenerife South Airport. Furthermore, Tenerife North Airport has an excellent location and the nearby cities are easily accessible. Another advantage is that there is a direct bus connection between both airports on Tenerife.
